Committee

The Alliance for Neurodiversity and Disability in GLAMR Professions Australia (ANDPA) was founded in November 2023 by Emilia Bell and Nikki Andersen, who along with Clare O’Dwyer, formed an inaugural committee. This committee was established to achieve ANDPA’s objectives, including working toward incorporation, which was achieved in July 2024, and ACNC charity registration, which was achieved in 2025.

Emilia Bell

President & Co-Founder

Emilia Bell (emi-LEE-ah) (They/Them) is an academic library leader, PhD Candidate, and non-executive director. They have lived experience of disability and are part of the LGBTIQA+ community. Emilia takes a values-based approach to leadership, professional practice, and research. In 2023, Emilia was a recipient of the AICD Disability Leadership Program based on their potential for impact on community and leadership.

Nikki Andersen

Vice-President, Secretary, & Co-Founder

Nikki Andersen (She/Her) is an award-winning librarian, writer, speaker and diversity and inclusion activist. She has a rare connective tissue disorder, which affects her vision, hearing, spine and joints. She is disabled, chronically ill and Deaf, and speaks and writes about disability inclusion. She has won several awards for her work in inclusion, and personalised and community-based leadership.

Kate Davis

Committee Member – Treasurer

Kate Tickle (formerly Davis) (She/Her) is a leader, librarian, information researcher and former library and information educator. She is an experienced administrator and project manager with a background in leading university- and sector-wide consultation processes, developing and implementing strategy, coordinating university policy and framework development, working in diverse governance environments, developing and implementing organisational strategy, and providing strategic leadership for large-scale national initiatives. Kate identifies as neurodivergent and was formally diagnosed with ADHD in her 30s. She believes that visible representation of diversity in leadership is crucial. She aims to lead with authenticity and vulnerability and is driven by a desire to empower others in their work.

Lex Kouris

General Committee Member

Lex Kouris (They/Them/He/Him) has a degree in Journalism from the University of Queensland and is currently studying a Diploma of Library & Information. Lex is proudly non-binary, autistic and lives with ADHD, and they are learning to navigate the complexities of living in a neurotypical world. Whilst at the University of Queensland, Lex volunteered with the Queer Collective helping sell merchandise and organising events, such as Wear it Purple day, which strives to foster supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for rainbow young people. Lex enjoys reading about Neurodiversity and likes to relax with true crime podcasts and sudoku. Lex’s strengths include their strong belief in self-development, strong sense of justice and fairness, and aptitude towards understanding complex theories. In addition, their civic engagement and activism within Neurodiverse and Queer communities is noteworthy.

Camille Peters

General Committee Member

Camille Peters (She/Her) is a habitual committee member and has been on various committees since 1999 in a variety of roles (mostly ALIA but also AGIA, ASA, RIMPA). She is autistic and realised she was neurodivergent as an adult. Camille has worked as a reference librarian and in records management, has qualifications in librarianship/records management and archives/data management, and is now exploring life after redundancy.
